When I first started adjusting my diet I found that preparing meals were so much easier when I had all of the following foods on hand.

There are more items on my “I can eat this list” but these are the ones I am sure to always stock.

Bonus: grocery shopping is so much easier by limiting myself to a set batch of healthy foods that I know I will eat and be able to make meals with.

Many of these are season-less items so they are easy to find year-round. For the ones that are seasonal, such as fresh fruit you can buy more on sale in season, and use them more frequently in your dishes or freeze them.

Your must have list may be different but the key is to always have a set of healthy staples available to ensure you’re using good ingredients.

 

Fresh Produce

VEGGIES + FRESH HERBS (ORGANIC)

  • Basil – I keep a live plant on the kitchen counter
  • Broccoli or Broccolini

  • Boobberries – Blueberries — I call them boobberries because they are breast cancer fighting superfoods

  • Lemons – I’m lucky we have two trees to supply these for us!

  • Organic Coconut Yogurt – So Delicious Plain Unsweetened
  • Kite Hill Almond Cream Cheese – Plain or Chive + Onion
  • Kite Hill Tzatziki Dip

CONDIMENTS + JUICE

  • Organic Yellow Mustard
  • Organic Dijon Mustard
  • Organic Lemon Juice
  • Sugar-Free Pickled Red Onions (my recipe here)
